Battles Against Media'sIdea of "The PerfectWoman"

Lately I have been studying
the media, reading articles,
watching news, and looking
for anything that I can find
to make me feel that there
is still hope for our world. If
you have read any of my
past articles, then you will
already know where my
concerns lie.
For those of you that are
just reading me for the first
time, my concerns are
strong regarding women of
today and their search for
the true identity of
themselves.
Women today have fierce
competition. I have spoken
to many men also and they
have strongly let me know
that they would not trade
their gender for any amount
of money. They actually feel
sorry for the women of
today. A few of them even
shared with me that they
hate the fact that
everywhere they look, the
media's idea of, "The Perfect
Women" is stuck in their
faces. Sure its nice to see,
any human being will
appreciate a nice looking
picture. What happens at
that very minute though is
that they (the men) are put
in a situation of feeling that
they are betraying their
partner by not knowing
exactly how to react. I
know, I know, some of you
are thinking that it is the
women's fault that the men
think that way. I will agree
in some cases, but these
men that I have spoken to
were being quite genuine in
the fact that they themselves
did not appreciate it.
I will be the first one to say
yes to prostitution. Why?
Because it keeps the damn
rapists of the streets from
attacking the unwilling
women. I say yes to
pornography; it keeps the
men that are afraid to
approach real women
relieved of a very needed
natural release. I also say
yes to alcohol and to
chocolate with ice cream,
but my dear readers, before
you frown on me for what I
just said, hear me say this.
"I do not condone the
force and uncontrolled
manor with which the media
shoves all this down our
throats. I thought this was a
free country. When did we
lose the right to choose
whether we want to have
the media's idea of, "The
Perfect Woman", shoved
down our throats every time
we turn on the television,
walk into a bar, just drive
down the road (billboards),
open a magazine, listen to a
song, or even simply look in
our teenagers room."
I was reading an article that
was advertising the new
television line ups for this
falls season. I was horrified
when I read about the
graphic violence being used
against women. Episodes
showing a woman thrashing
in a cage, with duct tape
across her eyes, while a
man's hands are shown
grabbing her bloodied
fingers through the bars of
the cage and ripping off her
fingernails. Another is
chained up like a dog in a
basement by her so called
loving husband. It gets
worse; there is also one
with a woman paralyzed by
venomous spider bites and
is being raped by a masked
figure. These are what
society is allowing for after
dinner viewing. I am
embarrassed to even say
that this is my world seeing
this. They made more noise
when Janet Jackson slipped
a peak of her nipple at a
damn football game. In a
word...SAD!! The media has
definitely figured out how to
make money at every
woman's expense. On a
much happier note, "Cheers
Dove" is all I can say. Dove
is pushing hard and
continuing an uphill climb to
bring back what was put on
this earth as, The Real
Women.

Wear Perfume Like a Pro!

Here a few simple tips, from
some of the pro's in the
fashion and modeling
industry on how to apply
your perfume so that it lasts
all day!
1. Put It On Early. Give your
perfume time to fully
develop by applying it at
least an hour before going
out to give the fragrance
time to blend with your own
skin's oils.
2. Layer the Fragrances. Use
soaps and creams in the
same scent as your
perfume. If worn together
the fragrance will last twice
as long! Most stores will sell
a complete line of products,
including soaps, creams, and
different moisturizers, in the
same fragrance(s).
3. Seal the Scent. If you are
using a scented moisturizer
in addition to the perfume,
apply the perfume first. This
seals the alcohol in closer
to your skin and as it
evaporates the cream will
"trap" the essence of the
perfume fragrance.
4. Start With Your Feet. If
you are wearing some cute
strappy sandals, heels or
open shoes, put a little
perfume on the soles of
your feet. As you walk, the
friction will warm your feet
and the scent will float
upward. (Note: this does not
work for closed shoes.)
Watch Your Jewelry. Be
careful to not apply your
perfume on or near
costume jewelry. The
alcohol in it can strip off the
coating, or an oily build-up
could be left on the jewelry.
Put your jewelry on after
you've applied all your
perfume(s).

Self Acceptance -Lessons From My HairAffair

For our diet and, indeed, in
every aspect of our lives,
we must remember to relax
from the demands of the
unrealistic ideal. For those
trying to lose weight, you
cannot be the Barbie. For
those lifting weights, you
cannot be the Governor of
California. Accepting this
principle first, can give you
the peace of mind to love
what you do have, lower
frustration, and actually
make weight loss easier in
the long run!
A few years ago while
driving to the drugstore I
watched a family walk
across the street. There was
a woman who appeared to
be in her 70's with a thick
mass of black hair flowing
down her back. Next to her
was another woman 40ish
with a thick mass of black
hair flowing down her back.
And walking with them, a
teen with a thick mass of
black hair flowing down her
back, and alongside her was
a girl about six years old
with a thick mass of black
hair flowing down her back.
The teen was pushing a
pram. I craned my neck and
observed a tiny baby tucked
inside - no there was no
flowing mass of black hair.
But I could see little black
tufts starting up and I was
willing to bet what that
would look like in the
future.
I drove on to the drugstore
feeling a bit gloomy. When I
got to the store, I saw rows
of hair beautification
products. Products to pump
up the volume, smooth, curl,
add bounce. I had tried
many of them in the past
with maybe some
improvement but not much.
What I really needed was
more hair. If any of those
ladies walking would give
me just a little bit of their
hair I would really benefit
and I doubt if they would
miss it. I have baby fine
blond hair. The kind that
wilts in the heat, hangs
limply in the rain and loses
its style quickly.
Later that week, I happened
to catch the talk show
Maury. Women were on the
show complaining about
their hair. One young
African American lady
caught my attention. About
14 years old, she had wiry
black hair. It sprouted out
from her head and went all
over the place. She cried as
she told Maury that she had
not had a comb in her hair
in years because it got all
tangled. I was shocked as
she told Maury that insects
landed in her hair and
stayed there. And I thought
I had problem hair.
After watching the show, I
started thinking about my
hair and instead of viewing
it as a problem I decided to
focus on the assets. Ok my
hair was very fine... but that
meant a couple minutes with
the blow dryer was all it
took to dry it. My hair grew
very slowly... but that meant
I saved money when I got
highlights because it took
them forever to grow out.
Also I would never have to
pay for an "UPDO" because
there was not enough hair
to do up!
I thought about my struggle
to have long hair. My dream
hair was a long, shiny mane.
I had given that idea up
long ago and decided to
settle for a chin length bob.
But that wasn't working out
either. My hair looked flat
and drab.
It was the same with my
fingernails. I wanted
medium length nails but nail
products and calcium
weren't producing results.
Right then and there I
decided to ACCEPT what I
had and work with it to
make life SIMPLE and
ENJOYABLE. Instead of
fighting my genetic code I
would work with it.
Next stop the hairdresser. I
had my hair cut off to a very
simple bob that hit just
below the ear. On "good
hair days" I could wear it
over the ear. And on bad
ones or when I got caught
in the rain, I could slick it
back behind the ear.
Highlights to give it body
and more shine were added
and I purchased products
that while they don't work
miracles they were suitable
for my hair.
Next I threw out all my nail
hardeners. They might work
for other people but they
weren't working for me. I
filed my nails down to a
simple, blunt length. I
purchased a very good file
and a chamois buffer. If I
paint them I will use clear
or a pale pink. But usually
they are just buffed to a
healthy glow. No more
struggle with the nails. Wow!
It's amazing how good it
feels and how much simpler
our lives become when we
accept what we have and
work it to our advantage.
Think about what you have,
that you struggle to change.
Is it something you can
change or is it something
that you can't. Life is so
much easier when you work
with what you have.
Indeed, no one is going to
mistake me for the Breck
Girl or the lady in the Herbal
Essence Shampoo
commercial. But that's ok
because I enjoy my hair
and nails now and that's
what matters!

Discover Your SignaturePerfume

Every woman needs her
personal fragrance
wardrobe.. To fit her mood.
To blend in with the
nuances in her personality.
Getting ready for some
romance?
You could go for a heady
fragrance or one that is
feminine, rose based.
Incidentally, rose and
jasmine are the classic floral
scents for romance.
In a carefree mood?
Go for something fresh.
Citrusy.
A fragrance that is fruity,
especially one with notes of
grapefruit or orange or
neroli would be wonderful
for that optimistic outlook.
Perfume is all about your
individual taste. My cousin
loves patchouli but
that smell makes me want to
throw up.
The trick is to get something
you simply adore which
smells great to other
people too. The easiest way
out is to buy a brand
name perfume off the
shelves. But would that
mean someone else would
probably be wearing the
same scent as you?
If that is your concern, you
need not worry too much.
That same fragrance
smells different on different
people as the day
progresses. The fragrance
mixes
with the oils your skin
produce and the end result
is something that is subtly,
uniquely yours.
If you do want to mix your
own fragrance, go ahead.
When I was in my teens, my
pals would mix their own
fragrance by mixing 2 or
more of their favourite
perfumes. That could turn
out to be a hit, or a total
waste of good perfume if
the result stinks.
The other way is to mix
your own fragrance from
essential oils. Each
essential oil provides a note
in the complete fragrance.
A beautiful fragrance
consists of at least 3 notes.
A top note, a middle note
and a base note.
The top note evaporates the
most quickly. Meaning, your
first whiff of the
fragrance would be the top
note. Mints and Citrus scents
like grapefruit and
lemon are top notes. It is
also the first note to
disappear, meaning as the
day
progresses, the top note
would have evaporated off,
which lets the fragrance
develop, showing off the
other notes.
The middle note forms the
body of the fragrance. That
means, for most of the
day, this is the note that
dominates the fragrance.
Lavender, tea tree, geranium
and nutmeg are some
examples of middle notes.
The base notes are the most
lasting parts of the
fragrance. Long after the
fragrance has faded, the
base notes remain. These
would be the woody and
the
musky scents like musk,
sandalwood and vetiver.
Some scents are complete
perfumes by themselves.
Rose for example is made
of
hundreds of components. It
can be used as the top
note, body and even the
base
note in a fragrance. I used
to keep a tiny bottle of
Rose Otto. Very expensive
stuff but a single drop goes
a long way. 1 drop of that in
5 ml of jojoba oil
lasted me for a very long
time as a personal perfume
that was also therapeutic.
It was also a complete
perfume on its own.
Experiment with different
scents, diluting them in a
massage oil, to create
your personal fragrance
For starters, you could put 1
teaspoon of sweet almond
oil or a carrier oil
into a small bottle, add 1
drop of essential oil for the
top note, 1 drop for
the middle note and 1 drop
for the base note and see
how it goes.
Have fun!

Choosing A Perfume

By Sara Blackmoore
The choice of fragrances
and scents seems to grow
wider every day, as
manufacturers fight for our
attention and try ever harder
to distinguish their offerings
from the competition. With
such a selection to choose
from, how does one even
begin to know where to
start when it comes to
buying perfume?
Broadly speaking, all
perfumes fall into one of six
different categories based
on their dominant top notes.
Different categories will suit
different people or
occasions.
Earthy or woody type
perfumes evoke smells of
the forest, and are usually
very refreshing. They often
tend to appeal to the older
generation, and may make
ideal gifts.
Oriental fragrances use
strong spicy scents, and are
ideal for special social
occasions, but be cautious
giving them to anyone you
don't know well - these
intense perfumes can be a
very personal choice.
The so-called "greens" are
much lighter than the
orientals, and are well suited
to more casual wear.
Because they make a less
dramatic assault on the
nose, they are also safer to
give as gifts!
Modern "oceanic"
fragrances are becoming
more and more popular,
particularly among younger
people who appreciate the
intense but often quite
unusual scents, which
instantly bring to mind
seaside scenes. Naturally
these are an excellent
choice in the warmer
months when thoughts turn
to holidays.
Spicy fruity perfumes are
also a good warm-weather
choice, and can be a good
all-round choice for the
woman who wants to wear
something with some
traditional base-notes but is
a little different to the classic
floral scents.
Finally, those classic floral
fragrances are suitable for
almost everyone and any
occasion. But be wary of
cheaper brands; this most
feminine of all the main
groups works best when the
ingredients used are of high
quality, and that means less
expensive brands can smell
exactly that.
Ultimately, choosing a
fragrance is a very personal
choice, and many women
prefer to stick with what
they know and buy the
same thing year after year.
But by trying different
fragrances from the same
group as your favourite
smell, you may just discover
a new gem.

Makeup Brushes - 4 Must Haves

No matter how fabulous your makeup is, or what technique you use, you really need good makeup brushes to pull it all together. The absolute KEY to great makeup application is really all in the brushes you use.

Applying eye makeup can be super easy once you know which makeup brush to use to create the stunning, sexy look you want.

Here are juicy little tidbits on four makeup brushes you must have to absolutely ROCK your makeup application!

Begin with a large shadow brush. A large shadow brush allows you to sweep, blend or base eye shadow over your entire eye from lash line to brow bone. This brush is perfect for basing translucent powder over the eye, for applying just one color, or to apply a base color before adding multiple colors. For a quick makeup application, apply one color over your lower lid or the entire eye lid, line your upper lash line with eyeliner, add mascara and you're done... how simple is that?

If you want to take it a step further, use a shadow brush. A shadow brush allows you to gently pat, press or sweep shadow on to your lower eye lid. It's also perfect for blending a highlighter color over multiple colors or applying a shimmer or highlighter color just below the brow. This is another simple and easy to do step that you can do quickly.

Here's where you can be artistic or as simple as you want with an angle shadow brush, which allows you to add a darker or contrasting color to the outer corners of your eyes to create depth and definition. Because it's angled, it makes it super easy to create that "V" or "U" shape to the creases of your eyes, effortlessly.

Finally, use a shadow blender brush to blend it all together. In small circular moves, blend so that there are no demarcation lines or areas where you can actually see harsh lines. A shadow blender brush is the KEY to making your makeup application look polished, blended and professional.

These four makeup brushes mentioned above are the most basic brushes you need for almost any eye makeup application. Investing in great makeup brushes is one of the best things you can do for your makeup regime along with practice. Be sure to get quality brushes and brush cleaner so that you'll extend the life of your brushes.

One last thing to keep in mind...

Makeup is about layering, so use the right makeup brushes to get the best effects so that you can create fabulous, beautifully blended and professional looking makeup applications - each and every time!

A Look Look At At Glo Glo Mineral Mineral Makeup Makeup And And How How It It Can Can Benefit Benefit Your Your Skin Skin

One of the best products to
come out of the cosmetic
industry for the new
millennium has to be the
many lines of mineral based
makeup available in today's
market. The benefits and
advantages of using this
kind of makeup and
cosmetics are many and
further testing has proven
that its composition is far
lighter than previous
makeup lines, giving it a lot
of advantages other
products when it comes to
good skincare practices.
One product line that has
stood out recently from the
herd is Glo Mineral Makeup
and in this article we will tell
just why that is.
What Makes Bare Minerals
Cosmetics Better
Bare minerals cosmetic
products, like those found in
the Glo Mineral Makeup
lines and others, stray from
the composition of the more
traditional cosmetic and
skincare products by not
including the usual chemical
preservatives and dyes in
their mix. While that practice
may have been the norm for
decades, dermatologists
have come out in favor of
this new innovation because
of the difference it makes
during use, and aftercare of
the skin.
Without all the chemicals
inherent in traditional
cosmetics, such as binders
fragrances and dyes, there
are far less incidents of skin
or eye irritation through use.
The mineral base is pure,
containing nothing that can
trigger an allergic response,
and users only need to use
just enough to cover the
skin, without the added
weight of creams or oils that
can block pores. With the
pores clear, there is no oil
or dirt build up and that
means a significantly
reduced chance of an acne
breakout.
Basic Techniques
Just like more traditional
lines, there are a number of
products available for use,
and all of them contain raw
minerals as their base, no
parabens or dyes for
coloring, using only
completely natural sources
in their recipes. Everything
from liquid and powder
bases to lipsticks and eye
liners are available and once
you try them out, you will
wonder how you ever
wanted to use the more
traditional makeup in the
past.
As makeup tips go for bare
minerals cosmetics, the key
thing to remember is that a
little goes a long way. Apply
only a light coat of the
moisturizing liquid base, or
the sheer coverage powder
base, just enough to cover
the surface of your face.
Blush powders provide a
subtle blending of color to
the cheekbones, and the
brightly colored eye shadow
blends can bring out your
eyes in a truly dramatic
fashion. Draw the look
altogether by adding eye
and lip liner in
complementary shades,
followed by moisturizing
lipstick.
Once your palette of beauty
is complete, you can use
the refreshing hydrating
spray to set the Glo Mineral
Makeup into place. As it
dries, the powder
components solidify into a
lightweight compliment to
your natural skin tones,
providing a light and airy
look that can be refreshed
when needed simply by
reapplying the hydrating
spray. All of the products in
this line contain moisturizing
and rejuvenating natural
ingredients, as well as UV
protection from the sun's
rays. Very versatile and easy
on your skin.

Natural Deodorants Deodorants - - Aluminum Aluminum - - Free Free Deodorants Deodorants - - Stop Stop the the Odor Odor Naturally Naturally

All people sweat. This is
nature. Sweat cools our
body and keeps its
temperature in balance. The
embarrassment and need to
mask the odor, however,
are so strong that we rarely
pay any attention on how
and what ingredients stop
the unpleasant smell. Have
you wondered what's the
difference between a
deodorant and an
antiperspirant? How each
one functions? What is their
effect on our body? Why
natural deodorants are the
best choice?
Here's what - first things
first.
Why do we sweat?
We have two kinds of
underarm glands that
produce sweat - eccrine
and apocrine glands.
The eccrine glands are most
numerous and are
responsible for producing
most of the sweat in our
body. Their sweat contains
water and sodium chloride.
The latter gives the salty
taste of sweat. The eccrine
glands are activated by hot
weather, fever, emotional
stress and exercise.
The apocrine glands starts
secreting at puberty. Once
the sweat reaches the
surface of the body, it is
broken down by the
bacteria that abounds in the
underarm area and..... here
is how the perspiration smell
is produced.
How to get rid of sweat?
Actually, we don't have to
get rid of sweat. It is the
main cooling system of our
bodies. When we sweat, our
bodies and clothes are
covered with water. When it
is hot or we exercise, our
bodies are heated. This heat
helps the water to
evaporate, which cools our
bodies. For the same
reason, when we are hot
and splash water on
ourselves, it feels good. So,
we need to sweat in order
to stay healthy. We just can
get rid of the perspiration
smell.
How to get rid of sweat
odor?
This can be done with
deodorants and
antiperspirants. Deodorants
neutralize the smell of sweat
by fighting the bacteria in
the armpits. On the other,
antiperspirants block the
pores in the underarm area
by its active ingredient -
aluminum salts. Thus,
antiperspirants interfere with
sweating - our body's
natural cooling system.
Aluminum salts penetrate
the skin and is accumulated
in our bodies. This process
is eased by the regular
shaving of underarms. Once
there, aluminum in
antiperspirants can cause
the formation of cancerous
tumors. It is also associated
with Alzheimer's disease.
Other ingredients to avoid
are parabens, formaldehyde,
propylnene golycol,
tricolsan.
What to do in the heat
then? Use natural
deodorants
Here are some ideas:
- before purchase, always
check the product's safety
in the EWG's Skin Deep
cosmetics database - a
directory with reviews about
more than 65 000 products;
- to stay on the safe side
use natural deodorants;
Tip: You may have heard
that natural deodorants
don't work. Or you may
know this from your own
experience. Actually, I was
almost convinced about this
too, but then I started to
apply mine more than once
during the day. The result
was odorless!
- if you still don't like natural
deodorants, you can
experiment and make your
own. Here is one tested
home-made deodorant
recipe:
Baking soda (anti-odor),
cornstarch (for dryness),
coconut oil (antibacterial), a
few drops of essential oil
(for additional fragrance).
Mix the baking soda with
equal amount of cornstarch.
Add the coconut oil and
mash it with fork in the
baking soda - cornstarch
mixture. Note that coconut
oil becomes liquid during
summer and is better to be
kept in the fridge. You can
add a few drops of an
essential oil. You may store
your natural deodorant in an
empty deodorant container.

Facts About Using Curly Hair Products

Curly hair tends to be dry all
the time due to its nature. It
therefore becomes
important to moisturize it
using curly hair products for
an attractive yet natural
look. There are a lot of
options available including
the natural oil-based creams
and lotions. Here are some
of the important tips you
ought to use for your curly
hair; you could easily give it
a shiny and smooth look.
Hair care is more than using
shampoo. Although
shampoo plays a great role
in ensuring that your hair is
always clean, there are
more products you could
utilize for a great effect. Like
it is with the skin there are
different kinds of hair and
each requires specific
attention if you want it to be
clean and beautiful at the
same time. Citrus based
products will give your hair
body, make it shiny and
prevent it from frizzing.
Conditioners are also an
important daily applicant for
people who like moist hair.
Some people have their
curls naturally while others
get them after special
treatment in saloons
through perms. Regardless
of how you got your curls, it
is necessary to maintain
them by using of products
that hold the curl enabling it
to survive through washings.
You can use creams,
shampoo, lotions and other
hair products for a smart
look, which lasts long.
If you are one of those
people who blow dry their
curly hair, it is important to
use diffuser attachments
which protect the hair from
getting damaged.
Moisturizing leave-in
conditioners help preserve
the moisture in your hair. It
is also important to use a
moisturizer before styling so
that you will have enough
moisture in the hair
preserved for a better and
healthier look.
For those who possess very
dry ringlets, mild shampoo
and conditioner will suit you
best as products. Use the
shampoo in small amounts
then avoid washing the hair
many times. Contrary to the
usage of shampoo, the
conditioner should be
applied in generous
amounts after which you
comb it through then wait
for ten to fifteen minutes
before rinsing.
The products used for frizzy
and very dry curls are
different from those used to
maintain soft and large curls.
Soft large curls are very fine
sensitive and differ greatly
from the small curls, which
are sometimes hard to
manage. You should
therefore look at your hair
first before you start using
products on it. If you have
the huge curls, you
probably want products that
make them assume beautiful
loops in S-shapes.
Rich creams work wonders
for the curly hair; they also
make it shiny, a look which
is popular with many. Cream
is especially recommended
if you got your curls from
chemical products. It might
be cumbersome executing
such kind of treatment and
especially that which is
frizzed but it will always be
spectacular only if you
consider using the right
products.
Hair cuts are also important
for those who want the best
out of their curly hair.
However, it depends on the
effect you want. While some
want to maintain their curls
others simply want to
straighten them depending
on what you like. Whatever
the case, you can always
get reliable curly hair
products for any application.
Curly hair tends to be dry all
the time due to its nature. It
therefore becomes
important to moisturize it

This year is making
headlines with bold lips,
smokey eyes over pale
matte skin. I love bold
lipstick with a beautiful
updo... clean classy and
somewhat retro. Whatever
your favorite look may be
there's plenty of lipstick
choices to go around this
season. Here are my picks
worth checking out. Red
Wine is making a bold return
to the fall lipstick lineup.
Wine-stained lips were on
the fall runways of Yves
Saint Laurent, Louis Vutton
and Custo Barcelona, to
name a few. A beautiful
array of hues from deep
Bordeaux to barely there
pinot nior were paired with
dewy and matte skin giving
a pop of lip color which is
super hot right now.
Mac Media lipstick is a great
choice for a burgundy lip.
You can spice it up a bit
using the burgundy or
currant lip pencil. True Red
is one of my all time
favorites for a classic look
and pairs perfectly with the
season's retro styles popular
with designer Milly.
Try Le Rouge by the iconic
Yves Saint Laurent collection
Rouge Pur Couture. The
collection evokes elegance
and the stay-true color
provides medium to full
coverage with a satin finish.
Berry Punch is a long time
quintessential fall shade and
it's staying true this season.
Try Laura Mercier Lip Stain in
Mulberry or Stila
Pomegranate Crush Lip &
Cheek Stain. Laura Mercier
Lip Stain provides the visual
effect of a stain with the
comfort and sheen of a lip
gloss. With long-term color
and balmy finish it offers
effortless polish and
understated sophistication.
Berry shades are most
flattering on fairer skin
tones. Nude is subtle and
works great with bold eyes
and brows. Nude defined is
actually your own lip color
enhanced. Hot nudes to try
are Bobbi Brown Pale Plum,
Korress Mango Butter 33
Nude and Sephora's Attitude
Glamour in Innocent Beige.
Bobbi Brown Pale Plum is a
creamy Lip Color combines
rich color with comfortable,
long-lasting wear and a soft,
creamy shine. With emollient
Shea butter and plant-
derived skin conditioners,
this amazing formula is
smooth, wears all day, and
leaves lips soft. Looking for
dramatic? Black Cherry
shades ranging from mauve
to plum tones are sure to
give you the perfect punch
to go with a clean palette of
subtle eye makeup and bold
beautiful brows. Christian
Dior has a beautiful new line
"Dior Addict Lipstick" with
several great choices in
plum. I like #881 Fashion
Week. Of course, I like
everything about Christian
Dior.

5 5 Unisex Unisex Skin Skin Care Care Tips Tips

1. Analyze your skin
When the season gets
colder, you will notice
changes in your skin as
well. Oily skin may become
more normal, or those
normal skin types might feel
their skin is suddenly drying
out. If you aren't sure
whether your skin needs a
new regime, consult a skin
care specialist at a local day
spa who can analyze your
skin on the spot or talk to a
consultant at a cosmetics
counter.
Reassess your body
cleanser. If you notice your
skin is dry and flaky, try a
creamy body wash or
gentle, soap-free product
that is hydrating as well.
2. Exfoliate
Exfoliation is key in the
dryer months and has so
many benefits! Exfoliating
once or twice a week
effectively sloughs off dead
skin cells to reveal the
newer, smoother skin,
lightens dark spots, allows
your other beauty products
penetrate more effectively,
and helps retain moisture.
For your face, use
exfoliating product that
combines physical beads (to
manually remove dead skin
cells) and digestive enzymes
like papain, derived from
papaya, that digest and
breakdown dead skin cells.
This allows for less friction,
thus a gentler exfoliation.
You may also look for
products that contain
solutions such as AHA
(alpha hydroxy acid such as
glycolic and lactic acids) or
BHA (beta hydroxy acid,
also known as salicylic acid)
products: AHAs are
preferred for sun-damaged
and dry skin because they
have the added benefit of
improving moisture content.
BHA is preferred for oily,
acne-prone skin and for
treating blackheads and
white bumps. Its oil-soluble
qualities allow it to deeply
penetrate the oil in the
pores and exfoliate
accumulated skin cells
inside the oil glands that can
clog pores.
For your hands, I find oily
based scrubs are perfect for
fall and winter because you
are getting the exfoliating
benefits with the extra
bonus of hydrating oils. For
your body, look for scrubs
that contain "polishing"
ingredients, such as
oatmeal, ground almonds,
sugar and sea salt Another
tip to remove dry skin this
fall is to use an exfoliating
loofah or glove while
bathing.
3. Moisturize and hydrate
I can't stress this enough; if
you want to keep dry skin at
bay, you must hydrate your
skin on a daily basis. The
best time to apply your
lotion to your body is right
after you've dried off after
bathing. Seal in the water
that's already being
absorbed into your skin.
Look for products
containing goat milk and
naturally occurring
humectants such as
Hyaluronic Acid (HA). Don't
forget to drink plenty of
water to hydrate your skin
and offset the lack of
humidity in the air. Use
humidifiers throughout the
house or at least in the
bedroom.
Your hands are in and out
of water and exposed to
harsh weather so you need
to moisturize them
frequently. That's why it's so
important to have hand
cream with you at all times
and remember to wear
gloves outdoors in the
winter. Your face is the most
exposed part of your body
and demands extra attention
in dryer, colder months. You
many need to over-treat
your skin with thicker
creams instead of lotions to
will provide stronger barriers
against the harsh
environment and apply a
night repair cream. Consult a
skin care specialist to find
the products that will work
best for you.
4. Protect your lips
Start moisturizing your lips
early to prevent cracked &
chapped lips this winter. I
suggest using a non-
petroleum based lip balm as
it has been found that
petroleum-based products
can have a drying effect on
your lips.
5. Sunscreen
Just because you may not
be lying on the beach
doesn't mean you can
forget the sunscreen for the
next 6 months. The sun's
harmful rays continue to
penetrate all year round,
making sunscreen a daily
essential. Using a full
spectrum SPF 30 year round
is a must!
Where you go to shop for
wigs has a lot to do with
your reason for buying a
wig in the first place. If you
are just looking for a wig for
some fun, like a costume or
a funky or whimsical
change, then you can easily
pick one up at a discount
store or beauty supply that
sells the lower-end synthetic
wigs. If, on the other hand,
you were looking for a wig
that will look natural and be
worn more frequently, then
you would be best off
shopping for your wig at a
boutique that specializes in
wigs and hairpieces or even
a wig maker. Does this
mean that you will have to
spend a fortune on a wig in
order to not have to look
like you are in costume?
Not necessarily. The internet
is now home to hundreds of
great options for those
looking to purchase high
quality wigs for a fraction of
the cost of what they are in
some boutiques. This is a
perk of not having to cover
the cost of things like the
rent on the beautiful
boutiques or their posh
decor. Online retailers are
able to offer better prices
thanks to a considerably
lower overhead.
There are six basic types of
wigs. Synthetic wigs or
machine made wigs, human
hair tied, hand-tied
synthetic, human machine
made, vacuum base and
custom breathable base.
Synthetic wigs may have a
skin like material on the top,
front, and crown area to
give a more natural
appearance which should
be considered. The style is
set into the synthetic fiber
permanently and will return
after each washing. Be sure
to carefully follow the care
instructions by the
manufacturer.
Human Hair Hand Tied
Cranial Prosthesis wigs can
vary in base materials but
typically consist of one or
more of the polyester mesh,
silk, mono filament, silicone,
or thin polyurethane. A non
slip material around the ear
tabs or nape of neck can
have a non slip material
where you would use a
corresponding thin
transparent tape to adhere
to. Hair types that can be
found with this type of wig
are Asian, Indian, Remy, and
European hair. It is very
important to closely follow
the care instructions from
the manufacturer when
washing and styling the wig
to avoid tangling and
damaging of the hair.
Han-tied synthetic wigs are
created by taking synthetic
fiber tied into a base
material. The style and hair
growth pattern or curl
pattern is permanently set.
They are easy to care for
and a great choice for
women looking to change
up their look for special
occasions or just for
something different.
Human hair machine made
wigs are determined by the
type of Human Hair that is
used as well as the cap
construction. Human hair
wigs require more time for
care and styling just like
your own hair would. You
will need to plan on
restyling after each
shampooing. Be sure to use
a more quality shampoo and
comb out thoroughly after
each wash.
Vacuum base wigs are on
the higher end line and will
require some upfront
investment of money and
time. They are custom
designed to fit your own
head. Be prepared to have a
plaster mold taken of your
head to ensure proper
suction of the wig to your
head. The base material is
silicone based with
European hair injected into
the base. This is an option
for women experiencing
total hair loss. They can be
a bit warm but are well
worth the natural
appearance of natural hair.
Custom breathable base
wigs are a great choice for
women experiencing
Alopecia Totalis (total hair
loss). A high quality
prosthesis is used with tiny
ventilation holes that
provides excellent fit,
comfort and natural hairline.
You will want to style and
care for this product in the
same manner as naturally
growing hair. It does
however require to be
replaced every three to four
months.

Different Types Types of of Lipstick Lipstick

When choosing a lipstick,
it's not only the color that
you choose that matters. Do
you want your lips to be
glossy, sheer, dramatic,
long-lasting, lustre? It's
important to know what
these words mean before
going to make your
purchase, or you will be
very confused once you get
there. The type of lipstick
will also have an impact on
the way the color looks on
you, so it's worthwhile to
know what the different
types of lipsticks are. Below
are the different categories
of lipstick and the
advantages.
Matte: No, this isn't a man's
name. Lipstick that is matte
means that the color is flat
and not shiny. This usually
includes the strongest and
darkest colors of lipstick.
Matte lipstick usually lasts
longer than shiny and other
types of lipstick. There is no
moisture added to matte
lipstick, so if your lips are
dry, flaky or too thin, then
matte lipstick may not be
flattering on you. Put on a
little chapstick before, and
some gloss after.
Gloss: This can be worn
with or without lipstick.
Gloss is great by itself on
darker skin tones, but tends
to make light skin tones
look washed out. Gloss
adds a lot of plumpness and
shine to lips, so it's great for
women with thin lips. For
more plump effect, first put
on lip liner, then add the lip
gloss and smudge your lips
until you get desired
plumpness.
Long Lasting: Long lasting
lipstick can be great when
used correctly, otherwise it
could be a little messy
especially if it's a dark color.
Long lasting lipsticks tend to
make the lips a little dry, so
I find that the best kind of
long lasting lipsticks are the
two part lipsticks which
contain the lipstick on one
end and a gloss on the
other. First put on the
lipstick, then the gloss. If
you really want it to last a
long time, wait for the first
coat to finish and do
another layer of color and
gloss. I know people who
do this four times! You
probably won't need to
reapply the color, but you
can reapply the gloss
throughout the day to keep
the color refreshed. The
color should stay on for as
long as you keep it there
and will need to be
removed with a good make
up remover. Make sure that
it's really off before you
wipe your face, or your
towel will be stained with
your lip color.
Lipstick is a beauty product
that you are likely to use
often, so it may be worth it
to look into getting your
favorite shades in bulk or
wholesale. This will definitely
save you money, and
lipstick is always a great gift
for the holidays.

What What Are Are The The Different Different Types Types Of Of Eye Eye Shadows Shadows ? ?

Many women are not aware
that there are different types
of eye shadows. Each type
of shadow serves a different
purpose and will look
different on your eye. When
a woman goes shopping for
an eye shadow and makes
decisions just by the color,
she may be disappointed
when she tries it on for the
first time. It would be worth
while to be knowledgeable
about the different types
before making a purchase,
especially since make up
can get pretty pricey. Below
are the four different types
of eye shadows and their
benefits.
Matte: Matte has no
shimmer or gloss in it, so if
you're getting a shadow
simply for the color, get
matte. It has a high
concentration of color in it,
so it stays on longer and
you don't need to put as
much of it on as other types
of shadow. Matte eye
shadow is great to wear if
you're going for a natural
look, and it's also good
when layering with other
colors.
Frosted: Frosted eye
shadow means that there is
going to be some shimmer
and sparkle in the color. It
is usually tinted with a white
or silver finish. Frosted
shadow looks nice when
applied on top of another
color, just to give it a little
sparkle. If you want to wear
it by itself, you should use a
primer first and then apply
the frosted shadow on top.
You can also use concealer
for the same effect. Frosted
shadow can be very light
and pale, so this will help it
stay on longer and you can
see the color better.
Satin: This is somewhere in
between Matte and Frosted.
It has a little shimmer but
not as much as frosted.
Satin blends well but is also
great just by itself with a
little bit of black eye liner.
You can also get more
benefit from Satin shadow
by first using a primer or
concealer.
Shimmer: Shimmer eye
shadow is similar to frosted
but is less opaque and has
more shimmer and shine in
it. It is great when you want
a more dressy look, but
probably better left home
on a day in the office. It's
great by itself or on top of
another shadow. If you
have deep wrinkles around
the eye area, you may want
to stay away from Shimmer
eye shadows all together, as
the sparkles tend to fall
throughout the day and
settle in those creases.
If you want to get good
quality eye shadow, it can
be expensive if you're a
make up fiend like me.
Buying wholesale cosmetics
can save you time and
money, and make up always
makes a great gift for any
woman!
Buying wholesale cosmetics
is definitely worth while if
you use make up often. You
can buy wholesale make up
from a cosmetics wholesaler
such as
wholesalefashionsquare.com.
Your wallet will thank you!
